The use of silicon photomultipliers to detect the fluorescent radiation
For many years we have seen a trend toward miniaturization of measuring instruments. For that purpose, the more recent advances in technology, including semiconductor. Silicon photomultiplier tube is an element whose history began in 1998. Due to the compact size, high mechanical strength and resistance to magnetic fields can be used to build low cost and portable measurement devices. Due to the high gain comparable to the photomultiplier tube, the possibility of the detector in various fields of science. As part of the presentation is an example of the use of silicon photomultiplier biomedicine.
